Watch Video: How Kohli became a victim of the famous Krishna by scoring just 5 runs in the 200th IPL match

Monday was a special day for Virat Kohli. A day earlier, he had announced that he would step down from the captaincy of this IPL franchise after this season. When he won the toss on Monday, when he went against Kolkata Knight Riders in Abu Dhabi, it was his 200th match for Royal Challengers Bangalore. He became the first player to play 200 matches for a franchise in the IPL.

It was Kohli's effort to make this special match special. But Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler famous Krishna did not let his dream come true.

This match was the fourth ball of the second over. Earlier on the last ball, Kohli hit a brilliant four on the offside. His bat was running fine. Kohli's fans were hoping that his star would do something amazing. But he returned to the pavilion after scoring just five runs.

An incoming ball from Krishna caught the Bangalore captain in front of the wicket. The length of this ball was slightly longer. It came inside after eating the tapa. The ball hitting Kohli's bat went through his next pad. The Kolkata players made a strong appeal and the umpire raised a finger.

However, Kohli felt that the height of the ball was a bit high. He decided to take a review. The ball was not a no-ball and height could have been an issue. The ball hit Kohli's pad a little above the knee. This was the only reason that could have saved Kohli. It was clear from UltraEdge that the ball has not hit the bat.

Now it was the turn of ball tracking. It was taking some time and the beats of the fans were increasing. It was clear in the replays that the ball is hitting the top of the leg stump. Kohli could not move much step on this incoming ball. He got stuck on the crease and because of this, he could not play the ball properly.

Earlier on Sunday, Kohli had told in a video posted on the Twitter handle of Royal Challengers Bangalore that he would step down as the captain of the Bangalore team after this season. Kohli had cited workload management as the reason behind this. However, Kohli had also made it clear that he wanted to continue playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore till his last match.
